Heritage instructors are tutors. Under the law, you are still your student’s teacher. Therefore, enrollment in Heritage does not release you from your obligation to file a Declaration of Intent to pursue a home study course, nor does it excuse you from submitting attendance records to your county’s school system. We highly recommend that families use Homeschool Compliance to submit attendance records. You may also submit your Declaration of Intent through Homeschool Compliance. They offer a free three-month trial, after which a nominal fee ($1/month last time we checked) is due for their service. That fee, payable to Homeschool Compliance (not Heritage) is well worth it.
